Jewish Student Organizations in Davis
Aggies for Israel (AFI)
Aggies for Israel (AFI) is a student-run umbrella organization at UC Davis dedicated to educating those on our campus about the State of Israel's history, culture, and politics. We are a bipartisan organization that promotes a pro-Israel and a pro-peace ideology through positive and inclusive community events, highlights the connection between Israel and liberalism, and encourages dialogue. We strive to make Davis a safe space for Zionists by fighting anti-semitism on campus and in the Davis community. Whether you are involved because you have family in Israel, are Jewish, or are politically inclined, we are here because Israel represents a home to every member in some way.
Alpha epsilon Pi (ΑΕΠ)
Alpha Epsilon Pi or AEPi was founded at New York University in 1913 and remains the largest social fraternity in California and New York and the largest Jewish fraternity in the world. Ever since our foundation, we have been dedicated to molding college men of character who embody our ideals of leadership, honesty, loyalty, and brotherhood. AEPi is the only remaining Jewish fraternity in the United States. At UC Davis, AEPi is a leader in philanthropy, academics, and athletics. We have one of the largest fraternities on campus and have the most active brothers both within AEPi and on campus. "No one could tell me where my Soul might be. I searched for God, but God eluded me. I sought my Brother out, and found all three."
Challah for hunger (CFH)
Challah for Hunger (CFH) is an international organization that brings people together to bake and sell challah, a traditional Jewish braided bread, raise money for charity, and spread awareness of food insecurity.
Our UC Davis chapter is constantly experimenting with creative flavors like Oreo cheesecake, cheesy-breadstick, blueberry muffin, cinnamon sugar, garlic pizza, - the possibilities are endless!
We donate 47.5% of our profits to Yolo Food Bank and 47.5% to MAZON, a non-profit that fights hunger both in Israel and the US. The remaining 5% goes toward expanding and improving Challah for Hunger chapters around the world.
Volunteer with us Wed 10:30 am - 12:30 pm for dough preparation and Thur 11:15 am - 2:00 pm for baking at Hillel House.
Sigma Alpha epsilon Pi (ΣΑΕπ)
Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi is a Jewish-interest sorority founded October 1, 1998 at UC Davis. Since its inception fifteen years ago, Sigma has become a national sorority with chapters across the nation. At Davis, Sigma is an associate member of Panhellenic.
We are known unofficially as “Sigma.” You can spot us around campus wearing our colors: Aggie blue and gold. Our mascot is the lioness; our gem is the sapphire; and our flower is the iris.
Our motto is “Spirit, Strength, Sisterhood” and our core values are Unity, Trust, Strength, Sincere Sisterhood, and Jewish Values. We live by these five values and incorporate them into events throughout each quarter.
The purpose of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi is to promote unity, support, and Jewish awareness, as well as to provide a Jewish experience for ourselves, our members, and the community as a whole. We are devoted to friendship, motivation, opportunity, leadership, and well-being.
Mishelanu (משלנו)
Davis Mishelanu is a branch of IAC (Israeli-American Council) Mishelanu centered around connecting Israeli UC Davis students. As an entirely student-run organization, Mishelanu’s primary goal is to build a close-nit community of students that fosters Israeli culture and spirit. We strive to create a home-away-from-home environment with events that celebrate Israeli holidays and more!
Nice Jewish Girls
Nice Jewish Girls (NJG) is a social and cultural club for female-identifying Jewish students who want to meet and form friendships outside established social structures. Past events have included cocktail nights, social meet ups, and more. More events are always being planned to bring together Jewish girls interested in connecting more with one another.
Jewish Art Club
The Jewish art club hosts regular arts and crafts events to promote wellness and connect with Jewish culture. This club is one of the newest and founded by a student. Past projects have included painting projects and hamsa-decorating. Anyone is welcome to participate in these events, which typically take place at the arts center on campus or at Hillel.
